The first day of fall is September 23rd! Where did summer go? To celebrate the coming of fall, there's a party going on over at Isn't It Romantic Book Club on Facebook. Fall into a Book! There will be over 300 authors participating and lots of goodies given away. Join the fun. I look forward to seeing you there.
So, with fall coming, Mr. L and I are back to our usual to-do lists. We're putting in the final two windows on the front of the house, replacing siding, and cleaning out sheds. As always, there's more to do—like mowing the grass that with recent rains is green and tall again. One thing at a time.
I've been reading – no surprise there :) I just finished Star Bringer by Tracy Wolff and Nina Croft, a science fiction/fantasy space story, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This book is about seven strangers, one stolen ship, and disasters galore. The characters are the best part of this novel. The world-building worked for me, and the heat level is, I'd say, mildly hot. If you like space dramas and aren't offended by excessive swearing, I think you would like this one.
I'm also reading Joyful by Ingrid Fetell Lee. This book is a charming read about “the surprising power of ordinary things to create extraordinary happiness.” I've only just started, but so far it's about the science and unexpected moments of adding color to your life. I'm looking forward to reading more.
I would love to know what you're reading (comment below).
