I'm not really sure what to do with this blog. I think I should do it...most definitely post on a more regular basis, but as you can see, life and everything else gets in the way. The other problem...if I'm writing here, I'm not working on the current story. Which btw, is Dragon's Flame, Book Two in the Dragonkind Chronicles. Also, another contemporary romance is knocking on the door, hoping I'll let it in. I'm thinking about it.

In the meantime, is this blog an online diary? Is it where you come to find out the latest gossip about what's going on in my life? Whether or not we've finished the house remodel? (no, we haven't. That will be going on forever I'm afraid)

So...what do you want to know and how much do I want to share without sounding narcissistic?

What I want to know is how to find balance in the ongoing battle of The Day Job versus being a working novelist. I'm thinking that's what this blog is probably about. And if it speaks to others trying to figure out the same thing—having to work a day job while reaching for the one thing that adds passion to their lives, then that's a good thing, right? Life out there is tough and chaotic and complex (no political discussions allowed here). It will be nice to have a place to come (in your case) and go (in mine) that offers sanctuary from all that disturbing unrest.

There are 4 things I want:

  • To make $20k a month (ha ha, that's a lot, but a novelist can dream, right?)

  • To have 0 balance on all my bills, including the mortgage.

  • To turn our mountain property into a sanctuary.

  • For my stories to touch readers hearts, reassuring them the journey is worthwhile and that it will bring them home.

I care about finding balance, finishing the house remodel, getting out in my garden, and writing the next story.

That wasn't too painful, was it? Now time for breakfast, followed by updating the website, then adding words to Dragon's Flame.

What do you care about this fine Sunday morning?

I'm Currently reading:

  • Judgment In Death by J D Robb

  • Melt My Heart Cowboy by C J Carmichael
